Photo World, the thing I love most about being a wedding photographer is no two weddings are the same. Some are enormous with 400+ guests and a 12-16 hour day and others are intimate weddings with just a select group invited to celebrate with the couple. I like how many different ways a wedding can be designed and celebrated. In this particular wedding we were at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and made use of the Butterfly Room. For some reason the butterflies were elusive that day and didn’t seem to want their picture taken. However the space was still beautiful throughout.
Following the ceremony and bridal party pictures we went on to the reception at Café Ba Ba Reeba in Chicago. I wasn’t able to partake in the meal but the topas looked amazing! It helps that I love Spanish Topas…
Beyond the venues and the food or the backgrounds we had in our favor we had an amazing couple to work with and the opportunity to capture this most important day.
I have a unique opportunity being a wedding photographer to have VIP access into the most intimate day a couple shares with one another. As I go through one wedding and the next and the next etc… I realize how privileged I am when a couple selects me for their wedding day. Being a wedding photographer, whether it is an Intimate Wedding or huge event, is not something to take lightly. As a photographer, you are trusted with great responsibility and every wedding is a way to learn and grow to ensure you continually do that much better the next time.
